Power, network and cabling for a golf simulator

Overhead launch monitors and ceiling projectors need power and data where there usually isn't any.

Power

  • A ceiling outlet (or a code-compliant alternative) for an overhead launch monitor and projector.
  • Outlets near the PC and at the hitting area for floor units and phone charging.
  • Electrical work should be done by a licensed electrician.

HDMI and Ethernet

HDMI runs from the PC to a ceiling projector are often 25–50 ft; long passive cables can be unreliable at high resolutions, so active or fibre HDMI cables are common. Several overhead units specify wired Ethernet — some use Power over Ethernet from a single cable.

Check each model's stated connectivity on its product page, e.g. the overhead launch monitors.
